PROSTATE TESTING INFORMATION

All screenings are free of cost to attendees. Please read the following information carefully:

1. There is a limited number of prostate screenings available.
2. Registration is required for Prostate Cancer Screenings ONLY.
3. No registration is required for all other available screenings which are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

PLEASE READ - BEFORE YOU REGISTER

Screening Criteria

  • Men ages 40 to 75
  • No previous history of prostate cancer
  • Uninsured men or men without coverage for prostate screenings

Before You Arrive / Pre-Screening information

  • Please eat. Fasting is not required
  • Arrive at least one hour prior to your appointment.
  • Please bring the name, phone and fax number and address of your doctor so that we can send your test results.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • All men registered for the prostate cancer screening will be required to attend a short educational session before their prostate exam.
  • The session will provide important information that will help you make the best decision about your need for prostate screening.
  • No one will be able to have their prostate screening without attending the education workshop.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Prostate tests

  • PSA-Prostate Specific Antigen Blood Test
  • DRE-Digital Rectal Exam

Once your tests are completed

  • DRE results will be given immediately.
  • PSA results will be sent in the mail. Please be sure to provide your correct address and phone number.
  • A copy of your PSA test results will be sent to the doctor whose information you provide. Please follow up with your doctor to discuss the results of your screening.
