Dear Men’s Health Forum participant:
The Men’s Health Forum is ending after 19 years.
You are receiving this letter because, according to our files, you have registered for or attended the Men’s Health Forum at least once. We are writing to let you know that the Moffitt Cancer Center has made a hard decision to stop hosting the Men’s Health Forum.
This decision was made because the cancer center is guided by national prostate screening recommendations that have recently changed. In order to comply with these recommendations, the cancer center has updated the qualifications for receiving a Prostate Screening Voucher. Unfortunately, the new qualifications will prevent us from distributing them during events like the Men’s Health Forum.
While the Men’s Health Forum will come to an end, we are pleased to let you know that we remain committed to providing cancer-related education and screening opportunities to men in our community. Though Moffitt will not continue to host this single event, we will continue to educate men on cancer prevention and early detection, provide Prostate Screening Vouchers, and offer Mole Patrol skin cancer screenings throughout the year through our community outreach and research efforts. You can learn about upcoming events at this website: www.moffitt.org/calendar.
In addition, opportunities are still available for you to receive the other health screenings that are offered at the Men’s Health Forum. Included with this letter is a list of low-cost or free clinics within the surrounding counties. We also recommend that you contact your doctor to make an appointment for an annual physical, or contact your local county health department (www.floridahealth.gov ) to learn about the screenings offered.
Thank you for attending and supporting the Men’s Health Forum. We encourage you to continue to take charge of your health.
If you have any cancer-specific health needs, please contact Moffitt Cancer Center at 1-888-663-3488.
For questions about the Men’s Health Forum decision, please contact me at [email protected].
Thank you for your understanding in this decision.
